  4.  While we hope that you find LOAN╖CALCULATOR! PLUS useful, we fully
  5. understand that there will be some people who will want to remove the
  6. program from their computer system. This file documents how to use the
  7. AUTOMATIC UNINSTALL program that is distributed along with
  8. LOAN╖CALCULTOR! PLUS.

  10.  BACKGROUND INFORMATION : When LOAN╖CALCULATOR! PLUS is installed, it
  11. does not modify any of your INI files. All program files are copied to
  12. the '\LOANPLUS' directory (or any other directory that you might have
  13. specified). One configuration file 'LOANPLUS.INI' is copied to your
  14. '\WINDOWS' directory. And additionally, three files _might_ have been
  15. copied by _our_ install program to your '\WINDOWS\SYSTEM' directory.
  16. They are BWCC.DLL, WINSYS.DLL and DEWCC.DLL. We say _might_, because
  17. it is possible that they were on your hard drive prior to installing
  18. LOAN╖CALCULATOR! PLUS because you may have some other program
  19. installed that depends upon these universal files. This is important
  20. to understand BEFORE you run the uninstall program.

  22.  HOW TO UNINSTALL : The uninstall progrma is NOT copied to the
  23. '\LOANPLUS' subdirectory. To run the uninstall program you will have
  24. to put the original disk in drive A: or B: (or if you downloaded the
  25. program from an on-line service or BBS, you'll need to decompress the
  26. .ZIP file if you erased it from your hard disk.) Click on the PROGRAM
  27. MANGER's FILE menu option and select RUN. RUN UNINSTAL.exe (on drive
  28. A: or B: or in the subdirectory where you unzipped the file that you
  29. downloaded). You'll be prompted to uninstall LOAN╖CALCULATOR! PLUS.
  30. The uninstall program will automatically erase all files in the
  31. '\LOANPLUS' directory and the '\LOANPLUS.INI file in the '\WINDOWS'
  32. directory. It will also allow you to optionally delete BWCC.dll,
  33. WINSYS.DLL and DEWCC.DLL. UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT NO
  34. OTHER PROGRAM THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED USES THESE FILES, WE SUGGEST
  35. THAT YOU ANSWER 'NO' WHEN ASKED IF YOU WANT TO DELETE THEM.

  37. FYI, BWCC.dll, DEWCC.DLL & WINSYS.DLL, all together, take up on about
  38. 406K of space. So unless you absolutely need this space, we strongly
  39. suggest that you do NOT delete them when prompted by the uninstall. If
  40. you really want to recapture this hard drive space and you are not
  41. sure if you have other programs that require these 3 .DLLs, then we
  42. suggest that you use Window's file manager to rename them to something
  43. like BWCC.DL2 etc. If after a few weeks (or months) you've had no
  44. problems with any of your prog rams, then you can assume that it is
  45. safe to delete them. On the other hand if you have a program that
  46. reports, for example 'Missing WINSYS.DLL', just rename the WINSYS.DL2
  47. back to WINSYS.DLL.
